PARTICIPANTS CAN ENJOY THE FUN OF CAMP ALL YEAR!

Our winter week program run after Christmas, typically starting 12/27 and through January 1st or 2nd. This program is only available for campers who’ve successfully completed at least one week during a previous summer program.

Parents can rely on a safe and engaging program as an excellent ongoing therapeutic recreation resource. Please refer to our Winter Week Camp-Daily Schedule page for available registration. Speak with our admissions staff to plan your child’s return to camp during our winter week.

Our winter week camp program combines the fun of our summer camp program approach with a skills-development design.

The Winter Week program functions as a guided team-building and community skills-oriented program. Campers are part of each program phase of the day, whether it’s learning greater independence during wake-up and bedtime, showering and dressing, helping with meals and clean-up, or choosing and planning their favorite activity and leading it with their group. Winter Week camp activities are selected to be beneficial and to fit the time of year of attendance, utilizing staff skills available for a particular weekend.

Lead staff members at winter week have all worked at camp previously, bringing the specialized direct-care training of our summer staff orientation to provide positive support approaches. The goal of these approaches is to create a comfortable setting, one that motivates practical advances in social and life skills growth that transfer directly to greater facility with a child’s internal world and their ability to function practically in their community.

We enjoy challenging kids to do their best. Activities are collaboratively focused among campers and staff to offer more room for choice-making and flexibility within a guided and structured model of positive support. Winter Week camp program themes are pre-planned to build enthusiasm and to help parents prepare their child’s positive and successful participation.
