ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A FUN REWARDING SUMMER JOB?

We are currently hiring fun-loving staff for an unforgettable summer! We are looking for dedicated, caring people, who have a generous upbeat attitude. Camp is a challenging environment, so we hire staff that are flexible, have excellent interpersonal skills, are responsible, hard working and dedicated to the campers. We look for people who agree with our philosophy that “camp is for the camper!” Our approach to working with campers is to provide the highest level of safety and direct care that is respectful and aimed at personal growth.

LEARN SKILLS, MAKE MEMORIES AND FRIENDSHIPS THAT CAN LAST A LIFETIME!

We offer competitive salaries, which include room and board, great working conditions, and valuable work experience. While the work can be difficult and challenging at times, the rewards can be endless. Working at an intensive special needs program like Camp Huntington is often valued by other employers, even those outside the special education field.

Staff Training/Orientation/Program Safety: During our intensive one-week training program you will learn behavior techniques, how to teach people with different learning styles, direct care techniques, and participate in fun team building activities with our community of counselors and supervisors. The program will expose you to the safety regulation codes all staff must follow: The New York State Health Department, The New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, The American Camp Association (ACA) and our company, Aspen/CRC Health’s Operational and Safety Regulations and Residential Best Practices.

As a bunk counselor, you will attend all programs with your campers, sleep in the same cabin with them and sit together with your campers during meals, providing 24-hour supervision. Depending on the campers needs; the camper to counselor ratio varies for 1:3 to 1:1.
