COVID-19 safety update
At Camp Huntington, we are following professional medical consulting, CDC, NY State Health Department, and American Camp Association COVID-19 safety precaution guidance for resident summer camps. We see excellent indications that by Summer 2021, either by vaccination or through properly-informed and well-designed and managed safety precautions, we will operate the camp in a risk-prepared and reduced, safe, and meaningful way that will reduce health concerns. Therefore, we encourage families to register for our 2021 season. Please review the tuition payment insurance options in our camper application, where you can also find our refund policy and timetable in our application terms and conditions section.
We’ve devised these new policies to ensure families have adequate time to review current safety guidance ahead of summer and respond accordingly without unreasonable financial concerns, and that also consider the camp’s need to hire staff and fund its financial commitments during winter and spring to be ready for our summer start. Please note: we are aware of hundreds of long term residential and day programs serving individuals with I/DD that did not close since the pandemic started, and have continued serving their residents safely and for their benefit and the often urgent help it provides families. Those are
the models we are basing our safety planning on. We are confident that our highly experienced and qualified staff for our 60-year-old program can effectively manage safe-distancing programming and safety protocols to maximize the highest level of safety for all participants. The Huntington spirit will survive through known safety risks and thrive in Summer 2021 to provide meaningful and enjoyable therapeutic programming for all campers. We invite you to Apply today.
