Dr. Bruria Bodek-Falik, Executive Director, Emeritus

Dr. Bruria Bodek-Falik, Executive Director since 1982, has a Ph.D. in Clinical Child and Family Psychology and is a licensed New York State Certified School Psychologist, Behavioral Psychotherapist and Teacher. She has had many years of teaching and clinical experience with special populations. During her career, Dr. Falik has been extensively involved in parent education, staff training, program development and workshop instruction.

In her civic and avocational activities Dr. Falik has presided over the Mid-Hudson Psychological Association, served two terms as a board member of the Dutchess County Mental Health Board and the Mental Health Association, and held membership in the Dutchess County Association for the Learning Disabled, and is a member of the American Camping Association, Hadassah and B'nai Brith.

Daniel Falk, Executive Director

Daniel Falk, Executive Director, B.A.; M.A. - Special Education (in progress) is Dr. Falik's son and has been involved with the administration of the program for over 20 years. Daniel first started painting cabins and cutting grass, until being called upon for other duties. He has worked in many capacities at the program: general bunk counselor, head counselor, operations director and director. His dedication and spirit for working with the campers is a joyful passion in his life. An avid athlete, musician and film music composer, Daniel took a short hiatus and became an executive producer of music videos for a global production company based in Los Angeles. Daniel's vast film production background, combined with strong piano and guitar skills offer campers fun-filled therapeutic music, film and drama activity programming. His oversight of facility operations ensures a healthy and safe environment for all participants. Daniel's year-round efforts include camper admissions, staff selection, program development and business management. He is a board member of the New York State Camp Director's Association (NYSCDA),which finds him actively lobbying state and local government officials for equal representation of special needs issues. He is also a member of the New York State Health Department's Medical advisory council.

Cathy Crowley, Program Consultant

Cathy Crowley joined our summer staff in 1984 as a bunk counselor while a sophomore in college. As a Head Counselor for over 12 years, she supervised both our counselor orientation and camper program. Cathy continues to return to work on-site some summers as her schedule affords. Her yearly consulting helps advance our program development greatly. Cathy is an esteemed member of our camp family. She earned her B.A./M.A. in Special Education and currently lives and works in Florida as a teacher. Since 1987, Cathy has taught severely emotionally disturbed, emotionally handicapped, mentally handicapped, physically handicapped, and learning disabled students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. She has had experience with students with Down Syndrome, Angelman's Syndrome, Fragile X syndrome, Tourrette's Syndrome, William's Syndrome, Praeder-Willi Syndrome and Asperger's Syndrome.

Stacy Kane Greenzeig, Visiting Program Supervisor,
BA, Special Education

Stacy first worked at Camp Huntington in 1984 as a general bunk counselor, while completing her undergraduate studies. As a special education teacher in New Jersey, Stacy taught academic and behavioral skills to students with emotional disabilities. She designed IEP goals to address social skills and self-esteem building for students aged seven through nine years. Stacy facilitated supportive services/counseling for family members to address special concerns and ease the transition of their child from home to a more structured learning environment. The mother of two children, one with a developmental disability, Stacy started The Unexpected Journey in 2002, a parent and professional development program aimed at helping parents cope with their child's disability. Stacy also provides sensitivity training to professionals in academic administration, education, therapy and pediatrics. She authored the book: The Unexpected JourneySM – Guided by Your Heart: A Unique Interactive Companion for Parents of Children with Special Needs. Her seminar presentations deliver ongoing professional development for parents and special educators. In 2006, Stacy returned to Camp Huntington as a Program Supervisor, where she assists with camper admissions and summer program supervision. Stacy is a board of trustees member for the Learning Center for Exceptional Children in Clifton, NJ.

Harvey Goodman, Operation and Program Supervisor

Harvey Goodman, Operation and Program Supervisor, possesses an extensive background in both education and summer camping. He's presently a teacher in an ESE setting for children with varying degrees of disabilities. In summer camping, he has been a 15-year senior unit leader, assistant director, director of Project Adventure, (a ropes, zip line and fitness courses), coordinator of teen events and overnight trips, CIT director, and coordinator of age-appropriate activities for all levels. For the past 19 years, Harvey has been involved with the Tamarac Bulldogs, a special needs organization, Special Olympics, and the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation, which has given him the insight, courage, patience, and enthusiasm to advocate, teach and train the special needs population. He will bring to camp his life experiences, contributions, and knowledge of creating and managing beneficial programs for the special needs population and supervising camp staff at all levels.

Diane Goodman, Program Consultant

Diane Goodman, Program Consultant, has a B.S. degree in Education, and is certified in Early Childhood, Elementary and ESOL (for non-English speakers) education. Working with children has always been a central focus in her life, serving as camp director at Tot Town, teen programs at Cutlers Camp and Our Kids Day Camp, and conducting in-service behavior management training. A certified teacher for 23 years, in both regular and special education, Diane is currently a Head Start Program director for 66 school-based sites. Diane works with "at risk" families and children, assisting with family education, social and emotional management, food, shelter and financial resource guidance. Diane is also President of the Tamarac Bulldogs, active with Special Olympics, PTO/PTA secretary and adviser, T.E.A.M.S. (Teachers Enhancing and Masters Skills) program leader, a club mother for a "girls club" for disabled young girls, and a consultant for a United Cerebral Palsy preschool. Diane brings to camp her enthusiasm for creating a positive and nurturing environment for children, her compassion, energy, knowledge, and patience.
